Russell in New Zealand's Bay of Islands is a historic village with an island-like quality and unique quaint charm. Visitors from around New Zealand and all over the world visit this area for it history, beaches, walks, boating and annual events.

Paihia is just a short ferry ride away and is the starting point of many departing excursions and attractions the area has to offer. You could try swimming with the dolphins, fishing, vibrant cafes and waterfront eateries, golf, retail therapy and much more.

This is a great base from which to explore the far north taking in Cape Reinga, the northwesternmost tip of Aupouri Peninsula at the northern end of the North Island of New Zealand.
